SMEST Capital: How Harsh Punjabee Created the Fastest Growing Fixed Income Broker In India
Staying motivated enough to materialize that big idea can be challenging. After hitting one spark, it often gets hard to keep going. The reason for that is expecting overnight success. Consistency, and steadiness is what you need to embrace to keep going, and keep growing. Only then, will you be able to create something that challenges the conventions and disrupts the industry. Which is exactly what Harsh Punjabee did.
Harsh Punjabee is the founder of SMEST capital, the fastest growing SEBI-regulated Fixed Income broker in India. It has over 50,000+ active investors and has a wide array of financial products in the debt segment with over 10,000 Crores. Harsh Punjabee is also one of the youngest directors onboard a JV Enterprise with the Ruling Family of Dubai, Her Highness and CP Group Enterprise. An avid investor that considers time and consistency to be the biggest currencies, Harsh Punjabee is a serial investor and has invested in several early-stage ventures across UK, UAE and Dubai.
Passion for Finance that Led to the Conception of SMEST
Harsh Punjabee’s fondness for finance stems from his passion for numbers and logic. Wanting to give voice to his passion, Harsh Punjabee didn’t wait till his 30s to start investing. The bug of trading bit him at a very young age.
However, what didn’t bite him was the yearning to become an overnight success. Observing the market movements as he traded made him understand that growing steadily and consistently is how success can be achieved.
Always curious about the financial market and wanting to make it more accessible, he started to learn about how capital markets function in India.
Harsh Punjabee always wanted to diversity his education. So, after graduating in mass media, he completed his cross-border wealth management from Zurich.
It was at this point in life he found his niche: Fixed Income Securities. After getting certified, Harsh Punjabee started trading Fixed Income Securities – building a rich clientele, and earning renown for his innovative solutions.
He understood, however, that fixed income securities are often beyond the understanding of retail investors. Inspired by the potential of these assets and wanting others to do the same, he founded SMEST Capital, aiming to transform fixed-income into an asset class and make it more accessible to retail investors across India.
The Road to SMEST was ripe with failures
It can be easy to think that Harsh Punjabee’s inclination towards logic and consistency would have earned him nothing but success. But that isn’t the case. Before founding the fastest growing fixed income broker in India, he also faced not one, but two failures.
The first one was an entertainment cine magazine and the second was a chain of restaurants. Although these failures did drain him mentally, financially and emotionally, they were not enough to put him down.
His belief in consistently moving forward pushed him right back up, and removed his fear of failures.
To Harsh Punjabee, “success” is an over-rated word. It is simply the by-product of excellence. And excellence can only be achieved through consistent effort and staying steady in the face of failures.
Why doesn’t motivation work? Because it is just a spark. And a spark is ephemeral – fading away fast. After that, all you have is your willingness to consistently move forward to achieve the growth you seek.
