How Mark Bowness’ Business Is Helping People Build Businesses They Love

Mark Bowness

Typically, men are seen as providers in the family. On their shoulders usually lies the responsibility of footing most of the bills in their immediate family—and sometimes their extended families. As a result, men tend to take up some jobs not because they love them but because they have responsibilities. However, this puts a lot of stress on men, eventually affecting their mental health. Mark Bowness can relate to this challenge, and he’s built a business targeted at helping more men do what they love and still get paid while at it.

Mark Bowness didn’t start with wanting to build a business that helps others build their businesses. He went to the University for a Theology degree, after which he became a Christian minister and began to speak in churches. Mark Bowness had also always known he was gay, but he still got married at a young age. However, his wife eventually left the marriage. The end of his marriage brought him so close to ending his own life, but thankfully he did not. It took him six months to manage to pick himself up. He went ahead and built an eco-island from scratch on a leased 200 acre-island in Fiji and invited people to become tribe members. The business got featured in 200 media outlets, filmed for 18 months, and eventually became a TV show in three countries. Ten years and counting, and the man who almost took his own life is now helping others find more satisfaction with their own lives by showing them how to turn their knowledge into a business they love and attain the freedom they desire.

Building a Business You Love

Mark Bowness’s perspective in helping people build businesses they love stems from his deep understanding of the biggest challenge that several men face. That is the pressure to continue at jobs they hate just because they need to provide for their families. The good thing is Mark Bowness’ doesn’t just know that this is a challenge; he also has a solution for it—helping men discover what they love doing, turning it into a business, and scaling with income. It strikes a fine balance between the need for men to provide for their families and still enjoying what they do as jobs.

This way, men do not have to sacrifice their mental health for their family’s well being, nor would they be unable to provide for their families by staying on a job they hate to pay bills.

Success is Freedom

For Mark Bowness, freedom, support network, and self-love are the three key elements that can make anyone successful. Success to him is the ability to live your life on your terms. Living life on your terms comes in the sense of freedom in different ways, including financial, mental, and location freedom.

However, you shouldn’t let your success get to your head. It resonates with one of Mark Bowness’ quotes for anyone who desires to be successful: “never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart.” When you fail, don’t take it to heart such that it stops you from trying again. When you succeed, don’t look down on others who aren’t doing so well. Remember, you were once in that situation. Rather, just like Mark Bowness, you should find a way to help others attain success.
