Sidhartha Mohanty: The Importance Of Perseverance On Your Journey To Success

Sidhartha Mohanty

No one likes to fail, but failure is somewhat inevitable. That is why it’s important to be perseverant. It’s when you can pick yourself up and try again even after failure, the ability to keep pushing for things that matter even when the odds seem to be stacked against you.

If there’s one word that describes Sidhartha Mohanty, it is perseverance. Sidhartha Mohanty grew up in the government quarters of a small town in India. Even though his journey has been filled with some failures, giving up has never been an option.

He studied computer science and engineering and obtained his MBA from IBS Hyderabad in India. Notwithstanding his educational background in engineering and business administration, Sidhartha Mohanty is building a thriving practice away from those disciplines as a sustainability evangelist. He is a former research fellow in Sustainability from the International Sustainability Academy and co-founder of a Berlin-based German startup with a mission to build a trustworthy and psychologically safe workplace and society. He is also a coach at Climate Launchpad Green Business Competition Japan, the world’s largest green business ideas competition with a mission to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change.

Commitment to Making People’s Lives Better—Sustainably and Financially

Sidhartha Mohanty is committed to making the lives of others better—not only through his work as a sustainability practitioner. He is committed to building his net worth, not because he wants to live a luxurious lifestyle. He wants a net worth of $1 billion, so he can help others escape poverty and live a more dignified life.

Qualities of a Successful Entrepreneur

No fixed qualities make for a successful entrepreneur, but there are some common qualities you’ll find in successful entrepreneurs.

Perseverance

To be a successful entrepreneur, you must be prepared to fall, rise and try again. Sidhartha Mohanty started two companies which both failed even though he put so much money into building the companies—including money borrowed from others. However, when the businesses failed, he didn’t give up on his quest to be successful. He counted his losses, repaid the borrowed money, and traveled across Europe, where he made a network of contacts and eventually became a renowned sustainability entrepreneur. He is also committed to teaching others perseverance so they can understand its benefits completely.

Having a Supportive Circle

Building a circle as an entrepreneur who wants to be successful shouldn’t be about quantity. What matters is the quality. You need to have a supportive circle of friends and family who can help you face hard truths and help you manage different issues of life.

As a man, this is especially important because men tend to bottle up a lot of things because of societal expectations of men always being strong. That’s why it’s essential to have a supportive circle with whom you can share your vulnerability in a no-judgment zone. On Sidhartha Mohanty’s journey as an entrepreneur, he’s been fortunate to have the support of a few good helping friends and an understanding wife.

Delayed Gratification

One of the core qualities of a successful entrepreneur is the ability to resist the temptation of immediate pleasure in the hope of obtaining a valuable and long-lasting long-term reward. It resonates directly with Sidhartha Mohanty’s belief that time is everything, a crucial mentality anyone trying to achieve success needs to have. For Sidhartha Mohanty, anyone on the path to success shouldn’t only believe in himself and remember that time is everything.
