Is your ego getting in the way of achieving success? A man’s sense of self-esteem can be measured by how they view themselves concerning others.

As a result, some men may find themselves constantly chasing only so others can perceive them as “always winning.” Considering a man’s ego is one of the most vulnerable parts, how can he cultivate a healthy male ego?

Jobe Neal, the founder of an Australian-based company Digital Difference Makers, is a Social Media Consultant and Agency Owner. Jobe’s greatest passion lies in helping Coaches, and Course Creators build 6-7 figure businesses that positively impact the world in a meaningful way.

Money doesn’t always lead to happiness.

Deeply ingrained in our human psyche is the belief that money equals success. We believe that the more money we earn, the more successful we appear in the eyes of others. As a result, our ego is satisfied. However, this may result in us living a path that is not true to our desires.

Jobe was an online gambling addict in his younger years, developing an unhealthy obsession with becoming a wealthy poker player. After growing out of this addiction, he shares, “I have since learned that money doesn’t necessarily make you happy. However, I still carry the lessons from poker with me in business today. For example, I handle business risks a lot better.”

Detach yourself from other people’s expectations and views.

When a man feels he is under constant pressure to perform and succeed, he may find himself on a path, not in line with his own soul’s blueprint. Jobe Neal believes that the solution to this is detaching yourself from other people’s expectations and views. He also states, “We can all contribute to solving this by not projecting our expectations onto others. I believe we would become more collaborative and look for more ways to celebrate each other.”

Success is how much you can positively impact others.

One commonly held view is that success is the degree to which you have positively impacted others. We feel more fulfilled emotionally and spiritually when contributing to a greater cause that goes beyond ourselves. It also helps us achieve a greater sense of purpose in life.

Jobe Neal measures his success through client feedback, sharing, “My indicator of success is when a client tells me how different their life is now, and how much better they feel about themselves. Typically, it comes from growing their business, but that tends to connect to an even bigger vision for their entire future.”

By cultivating a healthier relationship with the ego and detaching from others’ expectations, men can experience more fulfillment and success more authentically. Also, through focusing on positively impacting the lives of others, you may find that money is a byproduct of doing so.
